although stevie's music means a lot for me and most of the world , I don't think he needs our thanks , he knows how he makes our souls richer in many ways and I thank god each time I hear him for giving such a great person the talent he uses for the good of the human race . As I read through these messeges , you all seem to have the same problem in getting the words right . There is no need , I think our understanding is a good gift in itself , and I thank him and god in my heart.

Hope this makes sense , I'm having trouble expressing this , but I feel I'm not alone.

thanks for this site , It's good to know there are others who feel his music as I do .

Does anyone know about the Stevie song with Brian McKnight? It's not on Brain's new album. Someone else on the forum said that it's called "Without You".
Does anyone know if it came out at all, or how to find it? I'm a bit disappointed.

How do I get a CD copy of Journey through the secret life of plants. I live in New York City.

What do you say to someone who inspires millions of people daily? What do you say to someone who has done more to change racial inequality than any living person? Hopefully, you say something that speaks volumes of the kindness that he possesses. Hopefully you say something that brightens his day, just as he has done for countless people. All I wish is that I had the ability to convey in words these thoughts, these ideas and could brighten your day.

Respectfully,

DEAR STEVIE WONDER
FIRST I HAVE TO WONDER IF YOU REALLY GET THESE
MESSAGES. I LOVE YOUR MUSIC AND WHEN YOU SING I
FEEL THE SOUL IN YOUR VOICE COMING FROM DEEP
WITHIN.
IT IS HARD TO EXPAIN, BUT I'M SURE YOU KNOW WHAT
I MEAN. YOU FEEL IT TOO.
WHAT I WANT FROM YOU STEVIE WONDER IS TO
BE MY SINGING TEACHER. I HAVE THE BASICS ALREADY
I JUST WANT YOU TO FINE TUNE ME. I CAN'T LIE,
EVER SINCE I WAS A KID I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A
SINGER BECAUSE I KNEW I COULD SING AND I LOVED IT.
YOU KNOW THE FEELING. SINGING IN CHURCH CHOIRS,
HAVING SOLO SINGING PARTS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND
HIGH SCHOOLS OR JUST LISTENING TO MUSIC AND
SINGING TO IT WORD FOR WORD, EVEN IN THE SHOWER.
I WANT YOU TO TEACH ME EVERYTHING YOU KNOW, SING
WITH ME, PRATICE WITH ME, TEACH ME TO WRITE MUSIC
TEACH ME ABOUT THE BLACK HISTORY BEHIND MUSIC,AND
ABOUT GOD. IF YOU REALLY GET THIS MESSAGE PLEASE
REPLY, BECAUSE TO ME YOU ARE THE GREASTEST SINGER
IN THE WORLD. SHARE WITH ME YOUR MUSIC, GIVE ME
A CHANCE LIKE THE WAY YOU GOT A CHANCE. I WANT
TO FULFILL ME DREAMS AND ONLY CAN HELP
ME ACHIEVE THAT.

Never enough words to describe your inner beauty,
Never enough time to say how much you move me.
You have been a light to my world ever since I was born,
Taking my spirit higher, breaking me a new dawn.
You touch my heart, bringing tears of joy to my eye. Everyone else thinks I'm stupid when I begin to cry.

Your spirit flows through each and every note,
I'm sailing on your river,in a lyrical boat.
Built with your dreams and endless little kisses.
And the rocks of negativity, your little boat misses.
I get carried away with your breeze of inspiration,
Drop my anchor and cause a love vibration,
That ripples through the world through,
All because I love you.
I hope this poem has made you smile,
Because it makes the cheesyness of it all worth while!

Thank you Stevie for the river of tears you made me cry, making me realise that we've got fight for the milk and honey land and I will never give up. Yours with Love and Happiness
Sarah in England
P.S. Are you going to come to England at any point in the near future. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxXXXXXXXXxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Stevie - What Can I Say? Your devotion to music and love inspires the lost that can't see; satisfies the craving from within; calms the outer shell with bright glow; clenses our music flavor with taste; and feeds our internal soul. May god bless you with the kindest love - I would love to meet you someday, so I too could sense the power and synergy you bring to music. Love.

One Love Stevie,

I am a Jamaican-Canadian who sometimes publishes poems in cultural newspapers in Canada. I have often been told to dedicate this particular poem titled "The Blind Man's World" to you. You are a great inspiration to mankind for your open philosophy and your poetic musical ability.

The Blind Man's World

The blind man's world is an amazing world.
He is firm and steady.
He is not exposed to follies and cruelty like many.

His eyes are closed into his own world
surrounding him with love and beauty.

So devote not your pity into his world
to wonder and ponker like many.

Worry not yourself for the blind man cannot see
the ugliness that has been caused onto so many.

*****

One Love, one heart and one united destiny!
Bertram Smalling

Wow, all these people and I always felt it was just me and you, when I listen to you sing. I've listened to your music for over 25 years now (you rescued me from the Donny Osmond and restored my musical taste!!). Just like the other people have said, you've been there (and helped me through) some really bad times and, of course, the good times. I wrote to you once, but I don't suppose you got it. Just wanted to let you know, I love you and I"m really grateful for the gift you've given me. I feel like you're part of my family. Please come to England ( and invite me backstage!!)

Hi Steve, I know that you must recieve may letters and e-mails about new songwriters and artists requesting your help and guidance but I have a 23 year old female artist, that too is blind, and she has re-recorded one of your songs. She is fantastic and truely gifted! I have a small production company here in Columbus, Ohio and our production company did a re-make of one of your songs. Please call me if you can help us at (614)836-2898. You might be very interested in hearing her. Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone out there got a chance to tape the show in Detroit. If there is a person with such a recording, I will do anything for a copy. It was such a good show, and it touched me so deeply, that I just must have a recording. Please, someone out there had to have recorded it, just contact me.

Hi, it's me again, just as I remembered that I came on line to ask you, to come to Las Vegas, because, now I live alot closer to you, plus, everybody comes here I see Boon wants you to go to Australia I can't compete with that. But, I guess this will, or at least I hope it will, start a domino effect and maybe He, I and the rest of the world might be able to get a World Tour what do you say. Come on, Mr. Stevie Wonder sir PLEEEEEASE!!!!!!!bring some real music back to those of us who remember what it sounds like.

BoonAug 21, 2001 (01h15)
To me, you always have been and always will be the living God of music. Your music is of another world. It has inspired me not only melodically an rhythmically, but mentally and spiritually. All i've ever wanted to do is see you perform live, so for crying out loud, PLEASE COME TO AUSTRALIA!!!!!

kaci leviAug 20, 2001 (12h04)
You are the only person who has been with me(of course in my heart)my whole life. My Mom and Dad left me to the system at an early age. But I always had you to cheer me up and remind me of the good ol" days. When I was happy with a two parent family, knowing everyday, when my dad woke-up just as sure the earth knows that around her the sun is revolving, he was going to listen to "Songs in the Key of Life" that day. Watching Soultrain, waiting for my parents to leave so me and my nappy headed brother(pun intended)could sneak & listen to Richard Pryors times if my life but you obviously have seen into the hearts of multi-millions how many albums have you sold, you do the math. You are my lord in the poem entitled "Footprints" I love you now and always Thank You, Kaci Levi

RobertAug 20, 2001 (04h12)
hey stevie i think that you are one of the coolest guys. i love your hair and my most favorite song is "I just called to say i love you."

PeteAug 19, 2001 (17h35)
Stevie - you are one of the greatest musicians of the century - perhaps even more. The complexity - often expressed through simplicity - is appreciated by many but not many enough. Those who need to be taught how to appreciate art do not yet know of your deep & wide ranging talent.
You have carried me through many troubles in life. A great inspiration, not only in music but also in goodness & love.

Marina Borges Aug 19, 2001 (15h21)
Hey there mr. Stevie,
I just wanted to say that your songs are excellent; my dad is a big fans of yours and always "forced" me and my brother to listen to your amazing ballads (not only those, but they are my fav) . Thank you for all the joy you gave us during the years, it's always great to listen to some high-quality songs like yours instead of listen to all the crap it's produced nowadays.
I love you.

Marina

I wanna say wassup to Mr. Stevie Wonder! I am 14 and I'm from PHILLY I just wanna say I've been listening to STEVIE since I can remember my dad playing it in the house. STEVIE you inspire me so much to be an artist I sing and play the piano because of you. As I type this I am listening to SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE the first one and I got the second lined up next and then JUNGLE FEVER. I listen to your music almost everyday. I wanna say I love you and your work or should I say your life it seems. Hopefully you will recieve and someone will read it to you if not the people in this room will see how much this 14 year old young AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALE really loves you. If I make it in the music buisness it would be the high point of my LIFE and CAREER to meet you. Okay bye and lots of love!!!!!!!

Kenneth CookeAug 16, 2001 (21h11)
Mr. Stevie Winder,
I want to thank you for the inspiration you have been in my life through your music. My best friend and I were just watching your video "The making of 'Songs in the Key of Life'" And even as I watched it I had memories of when I was a child and I used to watch all of my uncles, along with my dad, sit around my grandparent's record player and listen to the vinyl copy of "Songs in the Key of Life. I remembered the feelings I wrestled with when listening to the injustices described in Village Ghetto Land, Love's in need of Love Today, Saturn, and If it's Magic( just to name a few). But I can truly say that the Lord used these, as He has used many, things to birth a pain towards the injustices as well as a hunger the possible. The bass I play now belonged to my dad and add for no other reason but to share that everytime I look at it or play it I have vivid memories of him in his den with his 8-track playing 'Sir Duke'. As I watched the video the bass player you had reminds of my dad in personality. My dad is still living, so I don't want this to sound like a letter of mourning. On the contrary, it is one of gladness and thanks. Thank you for being a vital part of my ministry, mission, and music. For being apart of my past, present, and future. This albulm will definitely of my life forever. Thank you. Kenneth R. Cooke Micah6:8
p.s. Will you ever be in the Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, or Indiana areas in the near future?

steFunkAug 16, 2001 (10h59)

All that you express in your music come to me as joy, a great love for life and other people. I think that before playing music, and to be a great musician or composer, we all must be very near to these feelings, to the need of love you sing. Thanks thanks and thanks again.

Many years ago I heard a Stevie song that blew me away. I've only heard it the one time and I've never been able to find it. It was a duo with a female singer. The line that stuck with me was something to the effect of, "who needs soap when we've got perfume" and it was about a relationship in real trouble. Does this ring any bells for anyone??

my dad is a big fan of your work.[His name is Kenneth F. Watts Jr.]He has every last song that you've ever song.He knows every one of them by heart. He would listen to one song until he new the whole song, then he would move on to the next one.I like all of your work too,but my dad loves it the most.He would even buy the soundtrack from movies when he found out that you were singing in it.Don't get me wrong he's not crazy in the head,he likes other music he just wouldn't go through what he goes through to get your music. He is looking forward to you coming to charlotte so he can see you.He wants to get back stage passes and every thing. He wants to take the family too.guess what?My dad loves you so much that he named my brother after you.[His name is Stevland B. Watts].I would love to meet you for myself. My dad likes how you keep it real.

hi! I live in Paris and Stevie Wonder is my favorite singer. Sorry: he is the best of all. During my childhood I've been lulled by his songs, and now I can't hear him without thinking about the unforgiving moments of my life, in happyness or pain he has always been there. He is part of my everyday, and I know that I'm not the only person who has this feeling. So, I would like to thank you, because you brought some joy inside my tears. Come in France, you have so many fans!

JasonAug 4, 2001 (21h40)

Ok. I just have to say that I am insanely envious of everyone who got to see Stevie in Detroit this past week...;] I have been praying to meet Stevie to thank him for adding sunshine to the world through his beautiful music.
If Beauty = Truth , than Stevie Wonder = Beauty.
