It was David T Walker who played the lovely guitar on Visions. I met him backstage after playing with Lou Rawls a few years ago. Any news on a new Stevie album. I wish he would go back to playing the drums like he did on the 70's albums -it's the drum sounds of the later albums which I feel let's down the quality of some of the songs.

VicFeb 29, 2004 (15h32)
I met David T Walker who played on Innervisions & he said Stevie was working all night in the studio at that time

DEAR MR. STEVIE WONDER,
MY NAME IS BRIAN PORTER, I REMEMBER SPENDING FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND WITH YOU IN 97' IN HUNTSVILLE,ALABAMA WITH MY FRIEND JONATHON AND HIS MOTHER WHERE I MEET YOU AT THE AIRPORT AND I THANK GOD FOR THAT AMAZING OPPRUTINITY. YOU WERE VERY WILLING TO ANSWER ANY QUESTION AND EVEN GIVE A QUICK LESSON IN FRENCH "LE CRAYON"(LAUGHING), AND BEING A MENTOR/YOURSELF PLAYED A HUGE ROLL IN MY LIFE, TESTING ME TO BE MYSELF, A JUNIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL. MOST OF ALL, WHEN I HEARD YOU PLAY THE PIANO AND SINGING IN PERSON AND EVEN BEING IN THE CAR WITH YOU GOING TUSCUMBIA AS YOUR SONG PLAYED ON THE RADIO, MADE ME UNDERSTAND HOW GOD PUTS PEOPLE IN PLACES FOR GREATER ENCOURAGEMENT. AND AS I WRITE THIS LETTER TO YOU, I KNOW FEEL HOW GOOD IT REALLY IS TO BE A MUSICIAN AND I AM TRULY HONORED. YOU INSPIRED ME TO FINISH SCHOOL AND BECOME A MUSIC EDUCATION MAJOR AT ALABAMA A&M UNIVERSTIY. I AM FINISHING MY SENIOR YEAR AND STARTING TO WORK ON MY SENIOR RECITAL FOR THE FALL. YOU HAVE TRULY BEEN A BLESSING TO MY LIFE, LORD WILLING, I WOULD LOVE TO DO THE SAME FOR YOU. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOUR LIFE AND OTHERS THRU YOU!!!
SINCERELY,
BRIAN A. PORTER

I am a "artist in grass", I delight to write melodies, since I consider you one of the greatest artists, it would be, for me, an immense pleasure to make to feel to you some modest compositions of mine.

really I dought you'll ever get to see this since there is so many people posting how wonderful you are on this, so I'll keep it as short as I can, even though there is not enough time to write it short.
You've done alot and you're a great person to look up to, so don't quit your day job, or you'll be letting down a load of people. Hope you cna continue to make whistful music.

To call myself a Stevie fan, is just short of ridic. "Fan" hardly describes my affection or affinity for this man and his music. I'm a grown-azz man, adult in every way, thus, I'm long ago given up the ghost on the concept of entertainment rolemodels, let alone "heroes."

But Mr. Wonder deserves that rare and wondrous salute, for he is indeed my hero, for the vast and poetic contribution he has given to we lovers of his music, and for his civil service in many issues within the Black and world communities.

This said, could someone PLEASE provide any info on the "sad but lovely" Syreeta Wright? My Stevie history is rich w/ her music as well. I understand she is not in the best of health, and I'm praying very very diligently for her recovery. My thoughts are with you, sweet lovely Syreeta. God Bless and KEEP you here for a long, long time.

Peace and Upendo Ni Ujoma!

Steve: My wife and I were married in Key West, Florida in a romantic sunset wedding on the beach. Our wedding song was "Ribbon in the Sky". This song was chosen as it was played by a piano player in a restaraunt during our first date and it was played after he learned why were were there. Our wedding date was the first anniversary of our first date. That is the reason why "Ribbon in the Sky" was selected. This song will always remain special to us and it brings back great memories everytime I hear it. God bless you

Greetings Stevie
You are my inspiration ! Right from the '62 / '63 era
when you were "Little-Stevie-Wonder" singing
Finger-tips. Part 1, at the age of 13, you were just
tremendous at the Brooklyn Fox when you were
touring with the Mo-town groups. I still remember
allll of it. After all these years, you are truely an
icon, and where will your talent ever end ?

nick theoFeb 24, 2004 (20h46)
Mr. Wonder. I have always wondered what "Ribbon in the Sky" meant. I would love to use it for my wedding song, however, I was just wondering if the ribbon signified something else or is a ribbon hung up for the love you are speaking about in the song.

Thank you Stevie, for being such an influence on my voice, on my band and everything we choose to learn and write. Thank you for creating music that can last a lifetime and never, ever get tiring, or boring. I could listen to you for days and never be unhappy!! God gave you such a gift, well, really so many gifts, and you have chosen to share them with the rest of the world and be such an influence on people, musically, but also emotionally and mentally. So again, thank you, and maybe one day I'll get that chance to sing with you, If not... I'll be happy just being able to sing your songs on my own.

Sincerely, Miss Kanti.

Dear Stevie, I am 7 years old. I had to do a report about you for a class project. I did not know very much about you before my project, but I really like what I have learned. Part of my project was to make an award for you. I made a gold Treble clef for the trophy. At the bottom I glued a pair of sunglasses and a harmonica that symbolizes you. My trophy read..."For Stevie Wonder's Amazing Accomplishments" It was a lot of fun learning about you. I wrote that I really liked you becasue you are so talented and you are such a good person! I also learned that you wrote the song, "Superstitious" that is the main song on Disney's "That's So Raven". It is cool! Have a great day. I really glad I learned so much about you. From Alejo Goenaga, Orlando Florida

Oh, and Stevie, if you ever hear this : I strive to become a musician (been applying to a polytechnic for ages) and your music and exaple keep me going. I can nothing but admire your strength, depth, and talent. It would be a dream to meet you, but though I know it's hardly ever going to be possible your music still makes me feel your sun. THANK YOU!!!

Damsell in distress here! *waves* Anyone have any idea if Stevie still tours? Have I been born too late? Though I'm a northern woman I couldn't adore mr Wonder's music more. His voice and groove makes the sun shine on me even on the coldest of winterdays. Such happiness and warmth is amazing...
Oh, and greetings to you all from here, Finland, Europe. : )

i really don't know what to say about how much I'm in love with Stevie Wonder. I am 15 years old and i live in Milwaukee. Out of all of the singers i've heard before Stevie Wonder is the only voice I've never get tired of. My grandma used to play "boogie On Reggae Woman' and "I Wish" all the time. i grew up listening to your work, Stevie. I can 't even put in words how much I love you as my favorite singer/songwriter/producer/all around person. your music never gets old and it has real messages that continue to inspire me even though i've heard the lyrics more times than i can count. All my friends say I'm obsessed with you, Stevie. i guess that's true. The one thing i hope to accomplish in my future is to meet u. i just want you to know that i see your music as a true blessing to not only my life, but the whole music world. keep on doing what you're doing Mr. wonder. i love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Hi Stevie!!
I just wanted to drop you a line & let you know your the best!! I'm a mother of 4 & 1 on the way. When I need to calm down or just relax I listen to you. you have a song for every single mood that I'm in. You lift my spirits & lift me into the sky. All my kids love your music. I have a 5 yr old daughter that is a twin and when I put your music on she puts on her sunglasses & dresses up & dances around the living room, singing word for word, all of your songs. Her favorite one is "For Once in my Life". She also really likes "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours"
I think music is really important in life & you have to have it. You have made that possible for me. I wanted to be a singer, but I ended up having kids instead. And even though I will never be able to become a singer, I have you to listen to while taking care of all my kids and I thank you for that. I have left my e-mail and it would be much appreciated if you could respond to me, so that I know you got this email. Nothing big, just something so I can smile and feel a whole lot better than what I'm feeling right now. Because I am over due & very pregnant. I need a prayer. Thanks!!!
Audrey

Stevie, Nothing is quite as beautiful or inspiring I can't believe how much excitement I feel when I listen to you. You have truly touched my heart, or shall I say you truly touch my heart every time I hear you, the emotions never get old every time I hear your song your voice I am just as stirred up emotionally. You kill me Stevie I think you are absolutely incredible and what would my life be without you playing the role in it that you do. You amaze me, your fans are special people Stevie it takes a certain type of human being to love you for the reasons they do I can only hope you understand really truly understand that you have changed people's lives in very real ways and you make a very real difference in this world. Stevie so many people love you please believe that they do, it would make all the difference to me if you could know just how much I love you for all the beauty you have brought into this world. Thank you so so much

fontellaFeb 17, 2004 (05h27)
To whom this may concern

I'm sorry if this letter isn't as professional as you are all probably use to. I live in Portland Oregon, and Michelle, the fan club pres. thought it necessary to write and make you aware of our new intentions. This way if what were doing is something that would hurt Michael instead of help you can tell us. My name is Fontella L. Young, I've been an admirer of Michael since I was a girl. I'm married and have 4 children, my husband and children are also fans. Enough intro. Michael is Innocent and I'm so sorry he has to be punished for his loving heart. After much prayer, the idea I've been inspired with is a concert. Fans from around the world would put on one of the, if not the biggest amature concert/tribute to Michael Jackson. Ofcourse this would be a great time for Gearoldine Hughes to come and bring her books to sale, proving Michael's innocence. She could be one of our speakers, to a crowd of hopefully thousands, so that we can clean the lying images out of peoples heads that the law has allowed the media to put there. I wanted the title to be Freedom. BeBe Winans, song Freedom would be my theme song. We would sing songs of unity, love, freedom, and so on. God would be invited through prayer to open the program. Gospel, pop, country, instrumental, jazz, blues, solo, and group artists would perform. Choirs too. We plan to put an invation on the internet and such to invite fans from everywhere to come and perform.

Dear Stevie:I have drafted the rhythms for three praise and worship songs, and one R&B song commemorating Black History. So far, I have attempted to contact many within the Gospel community (Fred Hammond, John Pee Kee, as well as the Burells), but have gotten no response as of the date of this message. Having grown up listening and enjoying your material, I would like to invite you, and your people, to review my material (which is very good for a novice). I have played the electric Bass guitar for the last 30 years, but life issues have taken their toll, and I have not matured in the industry ~in the absence of a professional mentor. Please feel free to contact me is you would like a cassette demo. God Bless.

Hi Stevie (I hope you read this).

I'm an 18year old crazy boy from Switzerland. My father (a jazz musician) gave me some of your records and since then I'm fascinated of your sound. You've set an example to me. You've invented yourself allways new over the years. At the moment I sing in some bands. I just want to thank you for some of the greatest songs in music history.

Pat
And thank you for "EBONY EYES"

Stevie, I have really admired your playing on the piano. Don't give up what God has Given To you.
Could you please come to my church to play the keyboard and teach me to play like how the Lord taught you how to play.

JoeyFeb 12, 2004 (17h12)
Stevie Wonder is simply the greatest, I am trying to collect every single album and compilation that has been released, so far I am doing pretty well, I have over 25 of his albums and am still going, not bad for a 16 year old. I can always find a Stevie song whatever mood I am in. I have many live performances and rare songs on MP3 and am willing to find a way to send these to other people.
Tony could you please send me that song as I have never heard it and would love to hear it. Thanks for listening. Last words - Stevie you are the greatest

Hiya, Im from Wales in the UK, Im 16 years old and I am absolutely obsessed with the music of Stevie Wonder! He is an incredible musician-a genius! There's seemingly nothing he can't do-drums, piano, bongos, harmonica, and who can forget his voice!!!! Everytime I hear a song of his in a shop or somewhere, I have to start singing and dancing right there in the shop. He's jst amazing. If there's any artist, past or present, I would wish to see live it would be him.

I was there on Friday night for the HOB concert, which I can only explain as being phenomonal and a once in a lifetime expereicne that I will treasure for the rest of my life! I won the tickets on the radio after trying desparately to buy them, which only proved to me that I was destined to be there. I can say that being there and sharing the experience with so many people who love Stevie was an experience beyond any other I can explain. He is truly blessed by his talents and I felt just as blessed by being in his presence and hering every note played. Many thanks to Hot 92 Jamz here in L.A. for making this lifelong dream a reality for me!

It's great to see so many people touced my Stevie's music. I myself, an 18 year old white boy from Wisconsin only just started listening to him about two weeks ago. Since then, I have bought Talking Book, Innervisions, FFF, and Songs in the Key of Life. I haven't heard music like this ever. Mr Wonder, you are one of the most gifted people I have ever listened to, and my only wish is that I had been around in the 70's to enjoy it with the rest of everyone. Thank you.

LisaFeb 8, 2004 (21h31)
I have listened to Stevie since I was 5 and I am now 40 almost 41. I would give almost anything to be able to see him perform in person. I love his music it always brings joy to my heart and tears to my eyes. What an incredible gift you are Stevie.

Mr. Wonder,
I have a song that I wrote over 10 years ago about "FREEDOM" that you need to hear. I am a single, African woman with a 10 year old girl who is an artist, writer, singer and Honor Student from Pre- School till now. We are members of TUCC in Chicago, IL. I heard that you came once to our church. I shook your hand once in Los Angeles in the 80's at the Roxy at a Smokie Robinson show! I told you that you were the Greatest, because some other people said the same thing; but I didn't know the Power of God, then ! Anyway, you may not ever see this, but God bless you and yours and I pray that one day you come back to TUCC and bless us again!

Sincerely,

Masika Machel

Stevie, if you read this....my life has been in shambles. You are the reason I started playing piano. thiss last year has been DISASTER for me...I went to your show at the HOBlues last night (6th) and your music changed my life once again. To see your passion and energy and love, it was life changing for me. You are truely a gift to every person on this earth and you have given me a new light in life.

DallasFeb 7, 2004 (23h17)
I WAS THERE!! VERY FRONT. Stevie has NEVER sounded better. the energy was UNREAL!! It was SO emotional. I can say, without a doubt, Stevie is one of the greatest legends of our time. Thank you to God for giving us stevie wonder

MarkFeb 7, 2004 (22h54)
I was at the show last night, and all I can say is: AMAZING!!!!! The venue was so small, that any seat in the house was a good one. We were lucky and got right up to the stage...we were only 10 feet away from the man himself! Set included Part Time Lover, Overjoyed, Ribbon in the Sky, My Cherie Amour, You and I, Master Blaster, Higher Ground, Don't You Worry 'bout a Thing, Superstition, Do I Do, All I Do, Golden Lady, I Just Called To Say I Love You, and several more. Stevie went off!!!!!! There was one point in the night where he told the musicians to leave the stage, and he proceeded to sing Overjoyed, followed immediately by Ribbon in the Sky. This performance reminded me of his Natural Wonder Album because it was flawless and packed with all my favorites. He is so amazing and he still sounds just like he did back in the seventies...it was a very moving, emotional, and wonderful experience.

While I do not believe in god I do believe in the transforming and uplifting powers of ART.
Mr WONDER you are a melodic GENIUS, up there with the likes of BACH and MOZART.
I would love to hear your melodies played by an orchestra, hey with Clav and synths to create a new funky synphonic sound. I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED to her it and think that it would produce a new phaze of creative peak talking to a different audience. How can I get this message to the http://stage.vitaminic.com/main/boom4/

Hey Stevie,
Some company in Quebec city is using your Sir Duke theme with some really bad French lyrics to sell furniture. I'm assuming they didn't get your permission since only two weeks ago they got busted for using a a Frank Zappa song illegally. Anyways, they're called Tanguay here in Quebec city, Quebec, Canada.

Ciao!

Norm, 'Alfie' is available on the instrumental album that Stevie recorded under the name Eivets Rednow (Stevie Wonder spelled backwards). It is rather easy to find it.

I have a request, assuming this gets to you, or someone in your organization that can help me. Saw you once on a TV show, years ago, with Burt Bacharach (spelling?), and you played one of Burt's songs, "Alfie", on your harmonica. It transported me to a place I'd love to go back to, but can't find a recording, or soundtrack source anywhere. Is it available. I'm a 65 year old fan, for life. Thanks for indulging me. Respectfully, Norman Ferry

I am writing to you today for two reasons. The first reason is because a family member of mine, who was born premature and lacks eyesight due to being in an incubator, is a very big fan of yours. She is 19 years old and just finished attending the MD School for the Blind, where she has been told you have visited in the past, but she did not get to meet you then. It was long after she fell in love with your music that she found out that the two of you had anything in common (besides the love of music), a lack of eyesight. Her life's wish is to meet you, I think she would even settle for a telephone call.
The second reason I am writing is for myself. As a fellow artist I hope you will listen to my story (although I will be brief so as not to take up too much of your time). The National Ballet (located in Maryland) is the oldest professional ballet company in the state of Maryland and it is going to die without support and interest. A group of people are putting together a fundraiser performance and reception and we are looking for anyone that is interested in being a sponser or offer any assistance available. I will stop on the subject here and if you are interested in hearing more please let me know.

Mr. Stevie Wonder,
Within the activitys of your career, the work you performed for ATT,"I Just called to say I love you"is of great interest to the endevers which I persue. In 2001 prototypes of cellular phones introduced the digital camera and lcd screen to now avilable merchandice known as the camera phone. This device has great promise for increasing the abilitys of communications. To enunciate, progressively technology has always replaced obsolete machinery,(you cannot buy black and white televisions anymore, not the large screen ones at least). The replacement of 500 billion dollars worth of telecommunications equiptment is a progressive step to increase communications abilitys for our current society. To further define the ramifications of such an undertaking, the ability of calling to see one another has great monitary and sentimental signifigance, hard work must be done.It is my intention, for personal and financial reasons to promote the incorporation of the digital camera and lcd screen to our communications systems. The creation of corporate sponsorships and production of prospectus for the sales of debonatures to encourage the inevitable production of equiptment with new found technology available is required.Your assistance is a consideration when contemplating the effects of new technology on existing society. As the resorses that is avialable to me is limited to accomplish this task, the sentimental views of what benefits this new product will provide i

GREETINGS FROM IRELAND.
i want to let you know Stevie how much you mean to me. i sort of stumbled upon your music. im 20, and about three years ago i started listening to some of your albums, discovering that i knew lots of them and found that they brought back loads of memories from my childhood.i said this to my mother and she told me that you were my dads favourite musician. he passed away when i was eleven so he never really had the chance to share his passion with me.i routed through all the cupboards at home and found about six cassettes of your albums and they are my pride and joy.its like when i listen to you i become close to my dad, as though im feeling what he felt all those years ago. so for that, all i can do is say a massive THANK YOU.my ambition is to see you sing live and i know it will happen soon.
love you
Ashley

Hi everyone,

A few months ago (maybe 5) I saw a clip on VH-1 of Stevie on the Arsenio Hall show.

I remember I liked the song he played, and... then I forgot the name of the song! :-( Can anyone who knows, tell me what songs he'd ever played on that show? I think the song was a then-current song as opposed to a past "hit". I'd like to buy whichever album the song is on. Thanks! -Paul

Does anybody out there know where I can get hold of Stevie's version Of Sting's "Every Breath You Take". I heard the single just a few times in the early 80s but it has totally vanished (like the unreleased early 70s stockpile of songs...), apparently without trace. And no, I'm NOT imagining things!!! Also, dig the funky similaries between Tell Me Something Good (written for Chaka Khan) and All Day Sucker (from SITKOL). The verse melodies take some getting used to but man, they are so different (and superior!) to the samey drivel being churned out as music nowadays. Keep on Stevie!!!

Stevie :
If anyone ever reads this to you, then I am so happy to tell you that you are the greatest love song writer in history. I have never known anyone who knows the real nature of human love than you, my friend. From the very bottom of my male heart . . . Thankyou, Steve, thankyou. You bring me endless tears of joy. God Bless you.
