KIITOS, Orvokki. (haiset kuin pakastimemme?)
Well, since my friend finds my suffering so amusing, I'll try to forget the grammar-related fears of mine just to get back at her...

But I AM as happy as I could ever be: Stevie Wonder will actually be playing live in PORI (1,5km from my house, may I add), and unless a magpie will fly through our window to steal the ticket, I will be there! (With a better lung capasity to torture the people around me with my singing, because I had to stop smoking so that I cold buy a ticket to his concert. Mr. Wonder has truly saved my life...)

OrvokkiMar 31, 2004 (19h25)
Well,I have this friend of mine who just spent 15 minutes to write something that Stevie MIGHT get his hands on,and finally she decided to not sent her message.I´m not a bit embarrased writing my bloody awful television/textbookenglish here, because when the summer is in Pori(my home town),so is Stevie!
And Stevie,if you read this and you are having trouble finding a good hotel in Pori, you can always come to my house!

BrandyMar 31, 2004 (12h16)
I just met Mr. Wonder at the Reno Hilton Garage. I must say, what a soft spoken sweet man. You made my day Mr. Wonder!! You're the greatest!!

Teemu, I know!!! *just as excited* He's going to come here! *jumps around in excitement* Just reserved the tickets for mr. Wonders gig on monday. I can hardly wait for the summer.... : )

Rocco Mar 31, 2004 (10h07)
Will, to me the guy goes to jail("get in that cell") and when he comes out he ends up homeless in NY; and as stevie says there's nothing we can do about him...he shouldn't have run to catch that bus...

DaveMar 30, 2004 (19h07)
JeffP that isn't my interpretation. Everything in the song ties in with a Christian perspective of how the things of this world will be turned around for those who believe in Christ, “Unclean minds mislead the pure, the innocent will leave for sure, for them there is a resting place” & Since my soul conceived, all that I believe, the kingdom I will see” People sitting just for fun, they will never see the Sun (Son?) for they can never show their faces etc, etc. I can’t see how its got anything to do with being blind and loneliness if that’s what you mean, unless you’ve heard him say so at some point. Sad sound, ok but not sad dejected, sad and fighting - sad message certainly not.

JeffPMar 30, 2004 (14h16)
To David, "They won't go when I go" is from the album "Fulfillingness' first finale". That's a really
beautifull song upon Stevie's blindness and loneliness that comes with it. Great piano. A very sad Blues.

TeemuMar 30, 2004 (08h54)
Hey Ya all there and especially Stevie Wonder!
My dream to see his concert is becoming true this summer - Pori Jazz Festival, Finland/ July 18th!!! At the same festival there`s also my other favourite, Alicia Keys on July 24th! I`m looking forward to the summer. See you in Pori, Stevie!

DaveMar 29, 2004 (17h45)
dissy, what exactly are you looking for? Obviously how every song sounds is to some degree subjective to the listener e.g. is it the spiritual content/message or the actual sound/style you are after?
There isn't really anything which sounds like "They wont go when I go". (a truly unique song and a brilliant one for believers) The only thing I can think of with the same sort of build up and sentiment is “Evil”.

Ivo VermeentMar 29, 2004 (16h22)
Hello, i'm a 14 year-old dutch boy. I listen to Stevie wonder's music all the time. It's so beautiful and inspirating. It makes me sing with it real loud! I would love to have personal contact with Stevie, however i know this is hardly impossible. I wish Stevie and all the others the best!
Friendly greets,

Hello all,
First of all, great webpage for the greatest singer, song-writer, music composer, musician and feelings-creator of the world.
Stevie created a special form of fellings-transmission into its songs, which is wonderful, and people of all over the world knows to appreciate it. I hope in the future, the next generations could continue listening to Stevie Wonder's songs and appreciating it, because the good music never dies.
Many thanks to you, people of all over the world, who feels the same for Stevie as me.
And many, many thanks to Stevie for creating this music which is playing a great role into our lives.
Best regards

I watched one of the award shows in late 2003, It may have been the Vibe awards or the NAACP awards, in which Stevie was on, and he said to the audience "if they were good or something or other, he promise to give them something to listen to by march". Now, was I hearing him wrong, and I don't think so, because I was hanging on every word he said, because I do love him! I just wanted to see if someone else heard that with me, because to me that meant maybe a new album or something. So please did someelse hear him say that?

I am the published author of a Book, Travels with Brother Retter:a Targum on the Gospel of St. Mark. In this book is found this paragraph:
Remember, we are the leaders of the world. Look at Stevie Wonder. Rarely do we find a leader with such sight. The man is a natural leader. He has no army, and no police force. He does not look to be a strong man. He leads with the force of his words and his music. He draws pictures that lead people to be what Pop intended them to be.
I am now working on a second edition of Travels. The second book will be named, Travels with Brother Delvery, A Targum on the Gospel St. Mark. One important difference in the second edition is that I want to incorporate song lyrics from the early 1970's into the book. Where do I write to get the required information?

Sincerely Yours in Christ Jesus

Dear Stevie, First and foremost I must say myself and my man love everything you stand for and your talents. And one of my dreams have come true today when I got the tickets in my hands to go and see you in Stockholm 17th of July. I did meet one member of your crew when you where here in Stockholm 1989. I was then working at Sheraton and I had the loving opportunity to meet , I believe it was your personal manager ; Mr Hardaway. He gave me some truely good words of advice and that will always mean alot to me. He did give me his card but I was to shy to contact him "smile". But to make a long story short. I feel so blessed to be one of your biggest fans in the audience at Stadium in Stockholm this summer.... Im already jumping up and down here. LoL...Me and my soulmate will be there just walking on clouds , knowing that we are one of these who had the true opportunity to see the master of music. You are truely the best. And God bless you always. Send my love and blessings also to your crew. And Stevie your fans in Stockholm welcomes you to Sweden this summer with open arms. Best Regards Lena in Stockholm

Where can I buy tickets to a Stevie Wonder show? I'm in the US, and would prefer to see a show here, but I will travel anywhere in the world if I can get tickets. It's my (long-time) girlfriends dream to see him, and I want to do what I can to get to a show with her before he retires.

Ticketmaster is all that I've checked, but they have no info on upcoming concerts. If you have any info or suggestions, please contact me via email at brian lee holub @ yahoo _ com (take out the spaces and replace _ with .)

Thanks in advance,

thank you very much Erica; but i have another question on my mind (it is the only place where i could find answers to these kind of question) no matter how many times i listen to the beginning of "don't you worry about a thing" i don't understand what stevie says to his mother, i'm talking about after the spanish-like part : it seems to me that stevie is talking about Paris ("beyroute?connoting chevere " sorry that's what i hear...) .And again i'm french so...i'm trying to fill in the blanks in stevie's songs. And by the way "my cherie amour " doesn't mean a thing in french so if the man who told the 19 years old stevie to name his album after french words is reading this (which i think he is not...) he'd better have double checked before. And if it's stevie's mistake well... that's allright ... he can come to Paris improve his french and why not sing under the eiffel tower, that would be nice...

Hello, Steve or however is screening this message for him, hopefully his manager.I'd like to start by saying i'm a big admirerer of all your works throughout the years.
And would also like to commend you on all your Selfless deeds you have performed to the general public and society as a whole without exspecting anything in return and alerting the press of what you have done.
Since the early 80's when you were going through some big changes in you life, I've always wanted to meet you and your family some day for a BBQ or get together. Your Manager and body guards are also welcome .I just ask not to bring the limos as this might attract to much atten to our humble neiborhood, Ha Ha
This probably will not Happen but i thought i'd ask anyway. "Hey, Thats What Friends Are For"
Love, Robert and Family

last message truncated ...

About 8:45 Stevie appeared on the plasmas.

Dark in the shadows with the lights coming up on him. Curtains open to reveal him standing there (I'm about 15' out).
The crowd is roaring!! After a bit Stevie talks about the normal wizz bang way to start a show but he wanted to start off feeling our LOVE! Then he had us start off the show trying to hit a note (we were pretty weak).

Ended right about 11:15. 2.5 hours of full on Stevie! I've been waiting to catch a full Stevie set since
I caught the Universal Amphitheatre show in '93 or '94. I've seen him 5 or 6 times between then and now but only
at benefits such as House Full Of Toys which is not the full thing!

The unageing greatest artist of all time. What can one say?? we're not worthy!

ABDELMar 18, 2004 (16h54)
Why is Stevie the quintessence of music? because his voice is unique, his singing is unique, his music is unique. In fact his music is at the confluence of all kinds of musics and thus it represents a perfect synthesis. His fans worship him because there is something (that cannot be explained by words) divine about him. When I feel sad, I enjoy listening to Stevie because his songs soothe my pain) and when I feel happy, his songs make me happier and happier.
Salut à tous en attendant avec impatience son nouvel album au mois de mai.

Johnny B. GoodeMar 17, 2004 (20h56)
I just wanted to point out that everyone loves Steve, but do we truly understand his talent? This man is one of the world's greatest musicians. If you have every played or tried to play a musical instrument I think you realize what I am talking about. The vivid ideas and pictures Stevie uses in his work makes us think about how much more we could use our own minds and senses for good.

VicMar 17, 2004 (18h26)
I also have the live at the Beat Club. I reckon it is early 1973. He is playing songs up to Innervisions which I think came out about July 1973 and then he had his accident in a car in the August I think. He came to Europe to promote the album I think.

******Mar 17, 2004 (17h10)
Could you help me what is the title of the song with this line: "He use to be the hero in the palace"... Thanks!

Mark KellyMar 17, 2004 (04h35)
It’s very easy to convert Pop songs, especially love songs, into gospel songs, because the music is already gospel. Just change references to the object of love into God or Jesus. Change sexual references into spiritual. This is not blasphemous, because we are made in God’s image and love of a person is all tied up in love of God. (see Solomon’s songs).

Example:

I Was Made to Love You (sung by one of the three wise men to Jesus)

When you were in the manger
I was just a stranger
In my Kingdom far away
A star above me told me
Go bring the child Gold – hey
And start your journey
Right Away

I was made to love you
Worship and adore you
Hey, hey, hey

You know King Herod disapproved you
His soldiers tried to kill you,
I went back home a different way,
"Don't you know I was made to love him,
Built a world all around him"
Yah! Hey, hey, hey.

I was made to love you
Worship and adore you
Hey, hey, hey

Dear Mr. Wonder,
I have listened to your music for years, and often have looked to it for inspiration. Now I am teaching, and I share your music and lyrics with my students.
I have added a partial quote from one of your songs to a poster for my classroom. It's all about taking their behavior to a higher level, from self-centered behavior to self-reliance and altruism.
"Gonna keep on tryin', till I reach my highest ground."
You are a true artist and poet. Your words continue to speak to the generations.

And if you're wondering why I'm posting so much is becuase I'm doing a project about Stevie wonder. I have to say that Stevie is one of our national treasures and certainly my favorite American songwriter of all time. I was fortunate enough to see him at Steele Pier in Atlantic City during the 1960's billed as Little Stevie Wonder and he performed "Fingertips." I remember it like it was yesterday. Is there any chance in the near future that we will all have the opportunity to see him perform in person again?

http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/magazines/allwoman/html/20031221t200000-0500_53329_obs_araine_wint.asp

As a female drummer I have over come many obstacles to get to my current status. I was born and raised in Jamaica West Indies, a place where female musicians are not given the same respect as their male counterparts. I am also a drummer which is not a position frequently if at all taken upon by a woman in Jamaica. I am writing you this letter because you have been a role model and an inspiration to me. I was recently accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston for the Spring 2004 semester. I had to defer my enrollment until the fall because some sponsorship funds did not come through for me. In the mean time I will be attending Drummers Collective in NYC until August continuing to enhance my craft as well as trying to seek assistance in funding my college experience. I did attend a perfomance arts school in Jamaica for perceussion.... but a degree in Music opens up the possibility for me to teach and inspire others to reach for their goals. Even if you know people who would be willing to assist me or make a contribution to this effort.... I would be greatly appreciative and indebted to you. I am at a point where I am running out of options as far as school is concerned. I do have a list of my accomplishments and I have attached an article about me in a Jamaican News paper.........
I would appreciate anything you could do..........
Sincerely

ianMar 8, 2004 (22h05)
Wow... I've always known of stevie wonder, but it's something that has been lying in the background all my life. UNTIL NOW!! I listened to the beautifully written track, Lately, and it hit a chord (pardon the pun!) and i've decided that i'm going to sing (crucify!) it when i get to go into a recording studio and record a record of my choice...

Until now, my choice was going to by Easy by The Commodores, but i really want to perform this number by Stevie Wonder as he really is a musical fantasma....

WISH ME LUCK (and poor Mr Wonder, if he ever gets to hear it!)

does anyone know when Stevie Wonder last played a full concert in Scaninavia? Polar prize and the swedish king´s birthday doesn´t count...
Wouldn´t it be nice to have him back?

SuzanneMar 6, 2004 (13h39)
Dear Stevie,

I am Suzanne de Kort (26) from The Netherlands.
I have always loved your songs. Everytime I heared "I just call..." or "You are the sunshine..." I walked to the radio to pull up the volume. I only didn't know it was you untill december 1996.
I went to a concert from my biggest idol, my all time favourite, Gordon (my first concert) and he said that when he was younger, his brothers sang songs from "Stevie Wonder" before bed time. He began to sing a medley from his favourites.
That's when I fell in love.
Well, not literly, but I love his voice and I love your songs and that combination was absolutely perfect. That's when I first knew it were your songs.

Thank you for the music.
With love,
Suzanne de Kort from The Netherlands.

Hey there, I've been a huge fan of Stevie Wonder since a very early age and I just last year got myself a copy of his 1985 album In Square Circle. By all the reviews I'd read of it they'd said it was a bit of a turkey. I liked the song "Part Time Lover" though so I thought I'd give it a listen. It really is rather good indeed..."I Love You Too Much" is an absolutely amazing song and so is "Overjoyed" and "Never In Your Sun" and "Go Home" and "Land of La-La." These songs more than outweigh the less-than-spectacular songs, Stevie's singing is awesome-as-always and on those tracks he managed very well to fuse his idiosyncrasies to clinical, digital 80s technology, something which can't have been too easy!! True, it comes nowhere near his magical 70s and 60s material, but it's still a pretty good listen!!! STEVIE RULES!!

badstereoMar 3, 2004 (19h34)
I am new to this website. Infact this is my first visit. I have always been a fan of Stevie who I think is a gem. I have distanced myself from him in recent days until I learnt something about a new album.
I would like this to be true and I would like someone here to give me details about the album if known. For example what will the album be called, what are the tracklistings...

Dear Mr Stevie Wonder-ful !
When your record release of "Isnt She Lovely"
came out in '76 from your album " Songs in the
Key of Life ", I was blown away when you had
wrote this for your daughter Aisha. My daughter
Christy was born on March 3rd of '77, and this
song was very special to me. I played it constant-
ly for Christy & I know how you felt when you
had written this. Such pure love went into this
song. Now, Christy will be getting married on
August the 20th of this year, and our Daddy /
daughter song to dance to will be that of Isnt
She Lovely". She & her future picked out a
beutiful old style castle to get married in the
Colorado Mountains. And you, Stevie, will be
there, in our thoughts & Love.
If you find the time, could you please e-mail me
@ " gor1003@aol.com ". I just dont know how
to acquire an 8x10 glossy of you. Possibly you
or one of your staff could shed some life on this.
Even if I have to send away for it in writing, I
would appreciate this info tremendously. Thank-
you for reading this. Bill Gordon, WPB Fl.

Tonight, for the first time, I heard a song called "I Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer" by Stevie Wonder.
I had never heard that song before. I do not know why.
It is absolutely one of the most moving songs I have ever heard. It is just beautiful.
Someone ought to lock Stevie Wonder in a room somewhere and not let him out until he writes another album--that's what the Rolling Stones said in one interview that (I believe) their manager did at one time.
He is a genius and ought to be writing more.
Joe

Hello everybody! Can anybody please help me with some "Stevie Facts"? I'd like to know for example how many songs Stevie has written, how many stevie-albums have been released, how many musicians stevie has ever worked with and so on... and so on... Maybe some of you can help me find some funny details or facts. Thanks for your help!
