Dear Stevland/Stevie,
Just when I had started to believe that everyone in the US had gone mad, there you were, singing 'Love's in need of Love today.' It really did something to me--thank you very much!
I had always been wondering: How can an announcement mean the world's disaster, or change joy and laughter into tears and pain? Now I got the feeling that it was your super-intuition that made you put in these words just for this occasion.
I have a question for you--I hope you don't mind: Maharishi is setting up 5 groups of 8000 in India to meditate and create world peace. Would you like to endorse this program? He needs a lot of money (1 bln) to complete it, because he wants to use only the interest of some endowment fund, so that the groups will last. I'm sure you get a lot of requests for support, but this one, I feel, is really different. This thing has been tried and tested, but unfortunately it sounds unbelievable for most people. Therefore it really needs and deserves every support it can get.
Yours sincerely,
Ge

Thank you Stevie for your joyful music. I´m an appassionated listener of your music. It helps me to live with peace in my soul and mind. My mother died at January. You remember, I wrote you about her that she has cancer. She was 49 years old. It was such a tragedy for me. I´m a singer too but it was very hard for me to continue. But it was my mothers wish that I continue to sing especially your songs. Last saturday I saw you in TV here in Germany when you sang "Love´s in need of Love today". Thank you Stevie for your help. Grazie ....Sorry My English is not so good.

Stevie sang longer "laa's" in a portion of "My Cherie Amour". That would be from his My Cherie Amour album. Let me know if that's the one. We'll get it sooner or later.

Ozan DurmusSep 26, 2001 (18h35)
Dear Dnands, i checked with it. but not that song again, the song i'm trying to tell must be one of his bests, the "laaaa...laa.laa.laa" part appears just a few times in the song...the song is very ritmic (mean high bpm).. and i guess he sings like " laaabaalaaabpaa...labaalabpaa...laaaaaaa (this laa is long)....laaaaa..laaaaa ( these two laa is normal lenght) ...laa ( this is just short laa sound)... can you remember which one is??...

LarrySep 26, 2001 (17h44)

There's a good Stevie site called Stevievisions .
It has the song on mp3 .
it speaks for itself.

big bSep 24, 2001 (23h27)
You should soon be able to download the mp3 for the live Stevie Wonder 'Love's in need of love today' performince on America: A Tribute To Heroes on KaZaa/MusicCity soon. You should also be able to find the song on the Gnutella network (BearShare) soon.

maggsSep 24, 2001 (15h43)
to Faisal Ali , I'll bet that there will be some kind of release of this event , cd dvd or whatever . It would be a good opertunity to raise more money . This is just a thought . If not , try writing to the TV network . I'm sure they'd send you a copy for a donation of some kind . It's what I'll be doing .

Hi Stevie
I was really touched by Your beautiful song ,'Love's in need of love today' on the Ameica's tribute to the heroes.
When I look at biblical prophecies that Jesus Christ spoke about, infact he says to His disiples in Matthew 24 : 'The day will come when men will be killing people and saying they are doing service to God ' That has been true throughout the ages and sadly seems to be increasing. The great hope I have in being a christain is that Jesus promises that He will soon come back to this dark world which is increasinly getting darker and That is when we will no longer be praying that 'Sweet Love Will Reign' It will be a reality

KeyninSep 23, 2001 (22h24)
Hi stevie and everyone, If you go back to anything that Stevie did in the 70's, you'll find a solution to every problem that exist today. I thank God that they are people like Stevie so he can show us how much love that we should give each other. As Donny Hathaway would say to you Stevie "Right On"!!!!!

maggsSep 23, 2001 (17h28)
To Faisal Ali ,
Stevie sang ' Love's in need of love today' .

I'm sure you'll find it somewhere on the net , I'm not quite sure where though .

I saw the telethon tonight also and was deeply moved by Stevie's performance. The part I can't understand is: At the end was Stevie's mic not on? I had a hard time picking up his harmonica and vocals. If anyone's mic should be on it's Stevie, not Willie Nelson.

RochSep 22, 2001 (06h18)
When I saw Stevie perform Love's in Need Of Love Today on the telethon tonight, I was nearly brought to tears, not only by the beautiful rendition he gave, but also by the pertinence to current events of the lyrics he wrote so long ago.

Stevie, if you read this, thanks for all the wonderful music and memories youve given me and the world, for all these years. I saw you in concert in Montreal in the '70's and look forward to having the opportunity to see you again. God bless.

gemma Sep 21, 2001 (19h41)
Stevie Wonder is the most amazing song writer there has ever been, whatever mood I am in I can find a song that touches me in the only way that music can, as a young person I have not had the pleasure of ever going to see Stevie in concert, but am eagerly awaiting any concert dates with the release of his new album. Thank you Stevie for making such beautiful music.

Thank You StevieSep 20, 2001 (17h26)
With the recent terrorist attacks on America, like so many other Americans, I have been very angry. Your beautiful song "Love's In Need Of Love Today" has been a great comfort to me & has reminded me that ONLY LOVE CAN SAVE US. Thank you so much, Stevie, for this song. It is a source of inspiration to us all. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I have a feeling this IS what we've all been waiting for .

/20/2001 - NEW STEVIE WONDER ALBUM SLATED FOR SEPTEMBER RELEASE!!!
Thanks to Bruno Striano and Mark Quigley from the listserve for the info.

New Stevie Wonder Studio Album Coming in September
By Tina Johnson and Teri vanHorn
03/16/2001

Stevie Wonder is working on his first studio album in six years, and he's
keeping tight-lipped on the details.

"You're just going to have to just wait and listen and see," he said.

Wonder said he had hoped to put out the effort in May, but recently decided
to aim for a September release. His publicist said she had no information to
add about the project.

The Motown musician, who has been recording since the early '60s, released
his most recent studio album, Conversation Peace, in 1995. That same year he
dropped a double-disc live set, Natural Wonder, culled from a world tour
during which he was accompanied by symphony orches

CubeSep 18, 2001 (01h34)
Stevie is singing better than ever, if u listen to his version of St Loius Blues on the new Herbie hancock album, you will see it would blow your mind it very much reminds me of how he sang, 'Love Light in Flight', lovely tone to his top register, incredible scating and he falsetto's towards the end.
Also on the new Spike Lee movis he doea a song called. 'Those Years Ago' its a beautiful song very vintage Stevie reminds me of ,'Secret Life of Plants' era. I know his new album is gonna be a real treat. And as one of the senders just said September's not over yet he may suprise us all and just release it.

jeffSep 17, 2001 (21h49)
i am doing some graduate work in music and I need to get some
information on the audience of Stevie Wonder. My guess is the answer
is going to be vast and multi-layered in terms of age, class, gender,
and race. Does anyone have any suggestions on how this kind of
information could be attained?

Jeff D.

If there was ever a time for a new Stevie album, this is it. Stevie and Jamiroquai have been keeping me sane this last week here in Washington DC.

whitetornadoSep 17, 2001 (18h44)
The fact that Stevie wanted to release the album in May tells me that it will definately be this year, and that it's probably finished as well. I wonder when the gospel album he has spoken of frequently will be released...he also said he wanted to do a musical, remember that anyone? Some Stevie songs you may not know about that you will want to get are: Keep Our Love Alive, Peace Wanted Just To Be Free(Pavaratti & Stevie!), Upset Stomach(Last Dragon Film), Feeding Off The Love Of The Land(from Romanian Angel Appeal CD & also in Jungle Fever movie, though not on soundtrack, Feel The Fire(Japan import), Too High(on Norman Brown's 1992 album, it's a really cool version with Stevie, I'll post more as they come to me...also about 4 Stevie things on the Pinocchio soundtrack released in 1996.

rasmus,norwaySep 17, 2001 (14h37)
please dont speak negativ about stevies singing.to me he is the greatest singer ever.and he has thought the new r;nb generation to sing!

whitetornadoSep 17, 2001 (02h56)
The latest new I have found is that Stevie is supposed to release an album this month. He would have liked to do it in May, but that was not possible. To quote Stevie regarding the album release date, "You're just going to have to just wait, listen, and see". Remeber everybody:September's not over yet...

MarvelousSep 17, 2001 (02h27)
In response to the numerous people who have asked about info on Stevie's new album. It's not out there. I, as a very big fan, have been searching the Internet every free moment for the last two weeks. I have came to the conclusion that nobody has the info. So I guess that we will have to continue to pateintly wait.

Hi Stevie, hi everybody from Italy.
Hope you'll enjoy knowing that everyday somebody in the world is starting to approach your music. Now it's happening to me, starting from Innervision; i'm sure it'll be a wonderful voyage into your music and soul (i'm curious to listen to your albums of the decade 1970-1980). Peace everybody

My heart aches for Stevie Wonder. How his heart must ache after the events of this last week. So many of the songs from Songs In The Key of Life, all of his music for that matter, have so much to say about what happened last Tuesday. Stevie, if you or any of the people who support you ever read any of these forum postings, we love you and you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi there fellow wonder fan,s. I would like to start by expressiing my deepest condolence to those who,s live,s have been effected by the recent tragedy in the US. Under normal circumstances i would never use this site as a platform to express my personal opinion but what has unveiled before my eye,s today through what i have seen through the media bring,s sadness to my life. For a long time now Stevie has taught us that the only way forward is through succsess-ful dialogue. Life afford,s us that platform,if we feel so aggrieved. Never should the opinion,s of people constitute and have such a devastating effect upon the live,s of people going about their daily buisness, after all that could be you and i .His message is clear to us all Conversation Peace .Pray for those whose live,s have been effected by such tragedy and i hope i speak for everyone when i say My love is with you.

Rob T.Sep 10, 2001 (06h04)
As far as Stevie's voice is concerned, I honestly don't believe he's overdoing it. The fact of the matter is that it takes a high level of skill to do what he does and if he wants to do vocal runs all day, God bless him. Stevie's voice has never stayed exactly the same for any long period of time. He's sounded different in every decade he's been making music, and some people may favor one voice over the other, but he's definitely not getting worst

Chill Out! all you Wonder fan,s the man will deliver when he,s good and ready. No matter how long it takes it,ll be worth waiting for.In the meantime if your having trouble keeping up to date with what Stevie,s up to i suggest you check out Blues And Soul magazine. You can find detail,s at www.bluesandsoul.com.They report a lot of what Stevie,s doing most recently that he turned up at a show in honour of Aretha Franklin and sang a duet with the lady herself. It was reported also that while in London picking up yet another award Stevie worked on a track with Omar may be it,ll be on the new album who know,s?

ianSep 8, 2001 (06h43)
In reply to Roosevelt. As far as i know Stevie does have a radio station in America which is K J L H . The abbreviation stands for Kindness, Joy, Love, and Happiness. It was set up by Stevie a lot of years ago and one of the dj,s used to be Gary Byrd whom you,ll recognise from working with him on Songs From The Key Of Life and most notably the CROWN. A single Stevie produced for him in the early eighties

I don't doubt Stevie at all , His Cd'll be done when it's done , it could be something REALLY special like Songs in the key of life , who knows , but the worst it could be is just plain good ! . Patience dudes! he knows what he's doing .

MickSep 7, 2001 (14h07)
Could someone from Motown please inform us Wonder fans : WHY IS THERE NO NEWS ABOUT STEVIE WONDERS BRAND NEW ALBUM.

Lately when I've heard Stevie performing live , he has still got that quality but he's doing to many vocal runs like Mariah Carey and a lot of the new boy bands.
Also at times he pushes his voice instaed of floating thru' the notes like he did in, ' Summer Soft'
Stevie I know you still have that magic why not get back to just singing like you use to and don't over do it.

I know people are want to stone me on this sight but at times we all need a good talking to

I am a great Stevie Wonder fan.
But I think its really sad to promise his fans of releasing his album in September and to not come up with the goods.
I don't think its Stevie's fault I think Motown have got a lot to answer for this , I mean I thinks its real rude not to even mention that it might possibly be delayed.

Also that track that was meant to be on Brian mcKnights new album has been deleted , again no explanation as to why, did Stevie and Brian fall out.
Or has Stevie lost his golden voice or songwriting skills.

It makes one wonder does'nt it

In reply to Maggs concerning unreleased material from Songs In The Key Of Life. This apparently was one of stevie,s most prolific writing periods and it was rumoured that some of the songs were used on Hotter Than July. However when you consider that Stevie nurtures his songs like his children it could be a long time before we get to hear them. What we all know is that Stevie has a wealth of talent and songs yet to bestow upon the world and he will continue to change the hearts and minds of people when doing so.

Dear Stevie Wonder,

Like many Christians today I am stuggling to hold on to to my faith and trying to find some continuing relevance in the Church - trying to keep it real.

Being a great lover of music also, one of the truly greatest inspirations in my life has been Duke Ellington's liturgical work "Concerts of Sacred Music".

I have no idea if you are still wearing your cross, but if you are I can think of no one else better gifted to pick up the baton from Duke, to offer praise to the creator and inspiration to the world.

I feel bad for the young people of today ( yep I'm no spring chicken - more like late summer ) weaned on gangsta raps and cussin' ho's. For me its not phat just stupid, but I also believe in freedom of expression, so Em & Lil' K got be out there. I just feel that somebody should use the gifts that the Creator has given them to show that there is another way of life.

Stevie, you've done everything else man, millions of people all over the world look up to you, love you and are just plain crazy about you - what else you gonna do in your life?

Peace and Love

J.T Wild

THE STORY IS TOLD TO ME EVERY TIME THE LOVE SONG ," ISN'T SHE LOVELY" IS PLAYED ON THE RADIO. MY MOTHER TELLS ME OF HOW SHE HEARD THIS SONG ON THE WAY HOME, HOLDING HER NEW BABY GIRL IN HER ARMS,24 YEARS AGO. IT TOUCHED HER SO MUCH AND SHE SAID "YEAH, ISN'T SHE WONDERFUL,MADE FROM LOVE" SHE LATER HEARD IT WAS A LOVE SONG, BUT IT WAS WRITTEN ABOUT THE BIRTH OF A CHILD-THE WONDER'S CHILD. BUT IT WILL ALWAYS BE SOMETHING SPECIAL MY MOTHER AND I SHARE BECAUSE ..... MY MOTHER IS SO LOVELY.
